Legend Bernese Mountain Dogs
Landon - my first Berner. He would change my life. I was living in Rochester, NY
when I decided it was time for my first dog. After much research, I decided that I
wanted a Bernese Mountain Dog. Landon became my soul mate and best friend. He
moved with me back to Kansas and never once complained about the hot climate. He
will always hold a special place in my heart. Landon was also my introduction to
health issues in the Berner. Landon died of histiocytosis near his fourth birthday.
Dak - Landon's half brother and my fix for a broken heart. Dak was everything that his
brother was, and, though I never thought it possible, more. He had a real love of life and
lived a long one. He helped me learn about showing dogs. Dak never won many points,
but he had me hooked. Dak was neutered and lived a good life until just short of his
10th birthday.
Our Past Dogs
Trudy - my first Prairiefire dog. Trudy proved that size does not matter. Small, but the
definition of the "alpha bitch". Trudy was the protector of the boy dogs, puppies, kids, and
our household. She produced two litters of beautiful puppies. She passed on her stable
temperment, excellent movement and soundness. She died in her sleep at the age of
eight.
Night -what a sweet boy. Ever gentle and great with the puppies. He was my first male,
show dog. He finished his Championship at 11 months. He sired three beautiful litters.
He gave our household Satin and Audrey. Night crossed to the rainbow bridge at seven
years old.
Satin - my daughter from Trudy and Night. This girl was bonded with me from the time
she was born. Along with sharing her life with us, she provided us with two daughters,
Rhea and Shea. Satin joined her parents at the rainbow bridge when she was almost
eight years old. My children still occasionally shed a tear in her memory. She was quite a
girl.
